Presidents Report
~~ Deb Kozlowski ~~ Please fill in volunteer hours in volunteer books. Plan
of work forms need to be completed. Committee mail with various information
in a folder passed around for viewing. Money counters to sign paper. Roster
and meeting date documents available. Campbell labels and box tops are
collected and handled by Dee Truitt. At this time there are 914 memberships
sold which includes 20 teachers, the goal is a total of 1300.

Principal
~~ Mr. Zink ~~ Over 1500 students enrolled in PHMS. Students heavily
involved in relief efforts for Katrina collecting money for Red Cross and
Noahs Wish. Homemade Hugs a project making blankets during art class and
afterschool for children effected by hurricane. Gently used books and
bookmarks will be included in each blanket sent. 15 video surveillance
cameras for school installation areas have been approved with a plan to be
installed within 1 year. Discussion regarding test scores using data sheets
distributed during meeting
Committee Reports
Friday Morning Coffee
Service ~~ Jeanne Biemer ~~ No coffee service will be available
Sept 16 as the coffeepots need replacing. A 60-cup coffee maker and a hot
and cold water dispenser are on order with anticipated ship date by the end
of the week. Coffee service will resume the following week if items are
received in time.
PHHS PTSA Liaison
~~ Jeanne Biemer ~~ Meeting held on Sept 6. Several of the middle schools
PTSA meetings conflict with the high school (October, November, December,
January, April and June). Jeanne is looking for someone to share the liaison
job, possibility of trading notes and then distributing info via email to
the board. Important Dates: September 29 College Fair, Homecoming Weekend
is October 14 and 15 beginning with a Parade on Friday at 5 p.m., game at 7
p.m. and dance on Saturday night at 8 p.m. PTSA Craft Fair and Car Show is
October 29 for 9 to 3. Crafter spaces are available for $25.00. Car show
registration is day of event and costs $15.00 per vehicle. November 3,4,5
fall drama production "Big Rock at Candy Mountain." Perry Hall High open
house November 10 more details to follow, as they become available. American
Education week is November 14 - 18. Parent visiting is Tuesday November 15.
Volunteer
~~ Terri Sierakowski ~~ Has lists to give to committee chars for volunteers
that have signed up to help. Please call and thank them for volunteering.
Officer Gephardt
~~ Video Surveillance cameras are Pan, Zoom and Tilt. It has been determined
that 5 will be placed on the exterior of the school 2 inside 2nd
floor and 8 on first floor and approved by Mr. Zink.
Reading ~~
Jackie Nelson ~~ Discussing regarding assessments, Computerized testing for
all students 1 reading mod and 1 math mod. Upcoming training for teachers.
Assessments are purely diagnostic and not for students files.
7th Grade
Student Liaison ~~ Brandon Hurn ~ Math - unit 1 test taken.
Science ~ How to classify organisms generally plants and animals. Language
Arts ~ independent reading project in October will be reading "Watership
Down". World Cultures ~ 5 themes of culture and are preparing for first
test.
Katelyn Wisniewski introduced and will also be a 7th
grade student Liaison.
8th Grade
Student Liaison ~~ Amber Sexton ~ Glad to be back in school.
Preparing letter to eighth grade teams to introduce myself to be able to
provide more information in upcoming meetings.

Author visit ~~ PTSA to spend $2000.00 for a 6th grade author
visitation, Margaret Meacham November 1, 2 , 7 and 8. (Terri Smith, Deb
Kozlowski) Passed

African Assembly ~~ The PTSA approve funding of the South African Drama
Troupe production of $1100.00 to benefit all grade levels. (Jeanne Biemer,
Kathy Phillips) Passed
